Why It’s Important to Have a Wedding Planner on Your Team!

So you are engaged! Congratulations! Well now you are on to the planning process. Whether you are just starting or somewhere in the middle, and you have no idea where to go next. You are starting to worry about where you will find the time to plan a wedding. You are trying to manage your social life, work life, newly engaged life, your me time, and put together a wedding all at the same time. Sound familiar? Let me tell you that you are not the only one who is in this position. Let me tell you that a wedding planner is definitely important to your wedding team to help you navigate through all of this. I am not just saying this because I am a wedding planner myself ( I will most definitely be hiring a wedding planner for if and when I get married)! I think every couple should have a wedding planner and here is why.

First, is the level of organization that a planner will bring to the table for you. There are about 5000 moving parts that go into a wedding. Give or take a few depending on how big your wedding is. There is so much to think about. So much to do and it can be very easy to not only miss something, but to also have not the slightest idea on how to take care of some of these moving parts. It’s more than just finding a venue, dress, caterer, DJ, cake, photographer, and inviting guests. There are lights to think about, linens, table clothes, chargers, chairs, aisle decorations, gown bustling, transportation, party favors, gift registry, and so much more. A wedding planner has the ability to make sure that you are staying organized, while checking off every item on your wedding planning checklist.

Second, wedding planners have options available to them that may not be available to everyone else. We can get access to certain things with vendors. For example, since I am certified through The Bridal Society, my couples can get discounts through certain companies. Which can come in handy because we all know that planning a wedding can be really pricy and we can any break we can get. Wedding planners also can refer to you some phenomenal vendors. We have a reputation to uphold, so we only refer the best vendors for your big day.

For me, the most important part to my job is keeping my couples from feeling like they are getting overwhelmed or that this is all becoming too much. It’s researching for the florist who can make the perfect floral crown for my bride because she is at work and doesn’t have the time. It’s talking my couples through any concerns and fears that they might have. It’s seeing the sense of relief on their face after we meet and regroup. It’s seeing the end results and all the smiles after they see their wedding day be brought to life in the most amazing way. It's the tiny moments that really do it for me. Those little moments are what make me say that a wedding planner is important to your wedding planning process. It’s all of this and more that makes me say that every one should have a planner for their big day!
