A Wedding Planning Checklist to Help You Through Covid 19

Making a checklist is my favorite thing to do. I make daily to-do checklists, packing checklists, mental checklists. Seriously, I make a mental checklist and then will make an out loud check mark! Checklists are vital to the wedding planning process. Really any event planning process. They help keep you organized. They keep you on track and guide you on your next steps. Checklists are how planners keep everything in line. During Covid, a checklist is even more crucial. Things are CONSTANTLY changing so you are going to have to make updates a lot. If you don’t have a checklist, you can quickly fall behind and get overwhelmed. But have no fear, I have all the tips to update your wedding planning checklist to help you get through Covid 19.

Keep a copy of your checklist on your phone. I have blank template on google sheets that I can make copies of for whichever wedding or event I am working on. Then I save it to my google drive and I have it for use on my phone, ipad, or laptop. If you don’t use google sheets, your phone has a notes app that can be used as a checklist. This way, if you accomplish something on your wedding checklist or you need to update your checklist, you won’t have to try and remember until you get back home. Your wedding planning is at your fingertips at all times.

There are a few things that you should think about adding to your checklist during Covid. You need a plan B and a plan C. With the way things are going right now, you want to make sure that if your first plan doesn’t go through, you have something to fall back on. Things are too stressful to have to scrap your wedding planning process and start all over again. With your guest list, have the amount that you would want assuming that there were no restrictions on gathering sizes. Have two smaller guests lists covid ready with the smallest list kept at ten guests so that you would be prepared for a microwedding. Have a back up venue in mind in case your initial venue cancels or falls through. Most importantly, have at least two postponement dates written down. Make sure that all your vendors are aware of your back up plans and that they can still accomodate your wedding if any changes are to be made. Now that you are continuing on with your wedding, you should think about taking some safety measures for you and your guests. It can be included in the design to your wedding. You could have hand sanitizer at every place setting. Decorative masks could be placed at the front entrance of your wedding venue for any guests who have forgotten theirs. Be sure to mention in your invitations that your wedding will be Covid safe and that you will expect everyone to remain Covid compliant. You can make some really cute signage about being socially distanced while still keeping the day light and fun. Look at live streaming options for the guests who couldn’t make it! Keep your guests updated on your wedding website (which you should definitely have one!)

Most importantly, remain open minded and ready for anything. There is so much going on right now and a lot of back and forth. You need to be prepared for anything, so grab your wedding checklist and make those updates!
